Posted by Jay Dill at Jun 20, 2014 02:15 PM |

With the 4th of July holiday approaching it’s important to keep these rules in mind to make Independence Day 2014 a safe and happy holiday.

It is unlawful to set off fireworks within the City of Kinsley EXCEPT IN THE FOLLOWING DESCRIBED AREA, AND DURING THE FOLLOWING DATES AND HOURS:

Within that area of South Park, bordered to the North by 12th Street, to the South by the dirt road running east and west directly north of the football field, to the East by Briggs Avenue, and to the West by US Highway 183.

However, fireworks are prohibited in the entire area around the swimming pool and the all of the fairgrounds.

These regulations are in effect from noon June 27th until midnight July 4th.  Fireworks may not be set off after midnight of any day during the period.

Also, please refrain from setting off fireworks during the 4th of July Display put on by the Kinsley Fire Department and clean up all trash left from your fireworks.

4th of July Fireworks are as American as Hotdogs and Apple Pie, but let’s not forget they can be dangerous to both people and property.  Don’t let a careless moment ruin the holiday for you or those around you
